GIS InformationRevised: October 14, 2008The Division of Water Rights uses Geographic Information System (GIS) technology to manage water right information. Specifically the Division uses Arc/Info, Arcview3.x, and ArcGIS software. Links available from this page allow downloading of GIS data and/or output products for use on your own system. In general you must have some type of GIS software to use this information. If you don't have any software you may want to consider downloading ArcExplorer from ESRI.
Topo Maps and PhotosThe division used to maintain a set set of scanned topographic maps at different map scales. We now refer you to the State's GIS Portal for this resource.
Water Right MapsThe Division produces several maps of use to people who work with water rights. These maps have been captured in Adobe Acrobat format and are available here for downloading and printing.
Water Right Coverages and Related TablesThe Division provides shapefiles of water right related information for download. The shapefiles are in self-extracting (.exe) files. Other Water Right data from the Division's databases can also be downloaded to create related database tables for spatial information using links on the GIS Data and Related Tables page.
Location CalculatorA database application for converting point descriptions to different location systems. The application supports Latitude/Longitude, UTM, Stateplane Coordinates, and Public Land Survey locations.
Address CalculatorA geocoding service for finding geographic coordinates from street addresses. The coordinates are then mapped on the Division's mapserver.
